Anybody try Dox MCC 110 FB paper?

I was wondering if anyone has tried this paper? I haven't seen any of it in real life, but saw it in Freestyle's most recent catalog and it looks intriguing.

Also, can anyone recommend a decent cold-tone FB paper? I haven't printed with one for a long time, but recently I've wanted to do some prints on that type of paper ( and my old fave Brovira is sadly long gone ).

It's Adox, not Dox. Anyway, I have printed numerous Leica-based negatives with over 100 sheets of it in the 8x10 inch size and it is the greatest fiber paper I have ever used! Saturation is much better than Ilford's fiber paper and the blacks, grays, and whites are brilliant! Highly recommended!

I have printed a bit with Adox MC 110, and it is a fine paper, negatives print readily, and it can be quite warm or cold depending on the paper developer you use, or depending on the dilution/strength. Compared to other papers, it definitely has warmth.

There are many excellent cold tone papers available. One thing I did was buy a 25-pack of many of these, and printed a couple of negatives on all my sample papers, keeping everything labeled on the back. All of the papers printed well, but comparing the prints side by side differences became apparent, and I found I could be happy with any of the papers, but that I did really like some.

One great cold tone paper is Slavich graded. Very cold, with a white base. But it is a contrasty paper (a grade 2 Slavich matches the contrast of a Grade 2 Ilford), so likes a relatively flat neg.

Another favorite is Arista Edu Ultra VC FB. The only downside to this paper is that it doesn't tolerate super long soaking as well as other papers.

Also, the Eco Pro developer from Freestyle is fabulous, and it lasts a very long time.

I actually have some Slavich paper that I need to try. I need to use it in total darkness, though, as the darkroom I use ( not mine ) has only yellow safelights and no red ones.

With this paper I use a Bright Lab Jr. bulb that screws into a regular incandescent light socket (from Delta CPM http://www.cpmdelta1.com/safelights.htm.)

A yellow or orange safelight worked fine for me with Slavich paper. I tested it and got no safelight fog out to 2 minutes exposure. Good enough for my way of working.

Great stuff. Beautiful tones. And it stays flat after drying. Better than Ilford Multigrade IV.
