http://www.rogerandfrances.com/subscription/photokina 10.html contains some ideas on what to expect, what to see and how to organize yourself. Also a couple of ideas for spouses who may not want to spend several (or any) days at the show, with a link to the tourist office site, the Claudius spa (36 degrees C as far as we can see) usw.
Cheers,
R.

Nice information about photokina and cologne. I will definitely go because it's just 40min with the train from Bonn to the Trade fair centre in Cologne.
A few steps from the Trade fair centre is a large youth hostel. http://www.jugendherberge.de/jh/rheinland/koeln-deutz/index.shtml.en?m
Don't know if it's already completely booked.
