I do plenty of macro work with my e-p2, but I've never used a flash for it let alone that one.

Let us know how it works out.

I've used a ring flash in the past and did not care for it. The lighting from it tends to appear flat.

I use a Nikon R1 these days and swear by it.

thanks dean, mine has a different name but it's the same unit.
