Hi there,
I am traveling to Manila for business and will be there from the 17th to 21st of November. I'll be busy during the days but free from 6PM onwards every evening.
I am staying in Pasig City / Ortigas.
Would love to do some shooting in the evenings and perhaps a beer or two here and there.
Let me knowing anyone is available, also if you have some tips where I could go in the evenings to shoot some street.
Thanks,
Ben

Hey
Im from Manila and I live relatively near your area.
Ortigas is a great place to shoot after work hours as well as the neighboring cities. Depends on what you want to shoot.
Let me know if you have any more questions.

Hey Nathan,
I have been there before and I somehow always end up at Metrowalk after work but this time I'd like to shoot around instead.
I like Street Photography - portraits of interesting people.
To me Ortigas was a bit too modern, would like to see something more local or traditional.
Any suggestions?
Also if you have time, we could meet up for a bite to eat and chat.
Thanks,
Ben

Try walking around Binondo (Chinatown), although this isn't near Ortigas (but worth the trip). It's much more interesting in the daytime, however. If you can stay until Saturday, then it would be better.
I'm from Manila, but will be travelling next week! As they say over here: sayang!
Cheers,
Johann

Thank you Johann, I'll check Chinatown out. I have taken that train ride last year I was there, then I had the luxury to stay for the weekend which isn't the case this time. I went to Intramuros only so this time I'll check Chinatown.
have a nice trip for next week!

Hi Ben, I'm from south of Manila. Also a good place is baywalk but nicer in the late afternoon as you can also see the famous Manila Bay sunset. You can walk from the US Embassy up to the Manila Yatch Club. Some interesting people and activities there. Here are some samples of what you can see in the area......

Hi Gil,
Thanks, the pictures show of an amazing place, it's a shame I won't have a chance to see it in daylight!
I think the earliest I can get there would be 7PM which might already be too late for these people to be out...
Cheers,
Ben

Try walking around Binondo (Chinatown),
I wouldn't walk around Binondo after dark, especially if you don't know your way around and will have a camera hanging from your neck.
Just my $0.02.

Stay along the main thoroughfare which is Ongpin street. It connects plaza sta cruz and plaza binondo. Should be relatively safe. Otherwise maybe going with a local is wise.
I would suggest going to Manila Baywalk first then walk towards rizal monument in luneta park
Then you can have dinner in Binondo. Ride the mrt from central station. You will pass by the national museum and gallery on your way. Alight at Carriedo station and plaza sta cruz will be just outside the station. And yes take utmost care of your belongings as in any other big city.
