Anyone in Oz want to share 1000 ft or maybe more of Arista Premium 400?

I'm thinking of ordering ten (possibly more) 100 ft rolls of Arista Premium 400.

Pickett's finally convinced me that film is dead and I need to start stocking the freezer! :p

Seriously though ... any of you Aussie bulk loaders out there interested? ... if so PM me. :)

I can see it now- Keith is just the first actor in a Pickett-precipitated 'Great RFF Groupbuy' that gobbles up the tri-x stock of 9/10 retailers worldwide.

I'm just finishing the last of the roll that Fergus gifted me a while ago. I'm liking the film; especially the way it stays flat after processing - no nasty curl. What cost are we looking at Keith? I'll PM.

Edit: hang on - you're talking Premium! The one I've used is the EDU Ultra. What film stock is the Premium believed to be? I think the EDU Ultra 400 was a FOMA filmstock.

Premium is guaranteed (by Marty) to be Tri-X ... I've been using Legacy Pro (Neopan 400) and getting some indifferent results. Tri -X is a lot more versatile and forgiving in strong light IMO but I still prefer Neopan pushed to 1600 for night shooting.

Never could get along with Foma Chris.

I just want plenty of a bulk roll film that I can shoot day in and day out and know that if it turns out wrong it's my fault and not the films because it didn't suit the conditions.

I've never had what I could call a bad experience with Tri-X but I've had some shockers with Neopan occasionally ... particularly lately for some reason!

I meant to add that from what I can work out with the current exchange rate and predicted freight from Freestyle it should be under $50.00 Aud per roll ($35.00 in the US per Freestyle at the moment).

Vanbar is currently listing Tri-X at $70.00 ... which is actually a little less than I thought they charged. I was in town a while ago and Ted's were asking $9.00 for a 36 exp roll!

Sounds good Keith - I've never used Tri-X (!!) but I'll give it a go.

What's good in the slow film department these days? Something like Pan-F. Any suggestions (amongst Freestyle's offerings)?

Tri-X 100ft can be had for around AUD60 a can this part of the world. I can purchase and post some to you.

Sorry, I've just bought a huge load of Arista Premium and Legacy Pro. I tend to order just enough to _not_ get charged GST when it arrives 1-2x/year.

Actually Chris I do love Pan F ... at 50 ISO or puushed to 100 where it gets a little more contrasty. Definitely the nicest slow film I've experienced!

Might order a couple of rolls of that too if you're interested because I'd definitely have one.

$47.99 per 100ft roll @ Freestyle. :)

It's not a particularly cheap film I agree but getting it in a 100ft roll is a hell of a lot cheaper than the $6.20 they're asking for thirty six exposures ... multiply that by eighteen and it comes to just under $112.00

2.19 a roll... or am I missing something? Even with shipping included, it's not much pricier to buy the 36s rather than bulk load, and for that price difference I wouldn't bother.
I still have 150 rolls of premium 400 36exp to get through from my last order. But if it doesn't bother you keith, I might chuck in a box of 8x10 film on your order- (only if it won't push you over the $1000 where you get stung by GST).

I was doing some maths on the difference between buying bulk and buying 36 exposure rolls with the Premium ... if you order ten 100ft rolls as against the equivalent one hundred and eighty 36 exposure rolls freight comes into it as it costs more to ship the cassettes. It does actually work out to $0.50 less per roll with these considerations.

There's some Scottish in my background! :D

PM me about the stuff you want! :)

Does `Oz' include the far-south-eastern state? My father is in Brisbane, by the way, so it became troublesome I could always get him to send it to me :)

No problem at all ... we love our southern brothers, and sisters! :D

PM your request and it will be processed in due course! :p
