Hi. This is my first post. I have a super clean GSN I just purchased off ebay for $10, it is almost completely flawless and everything works when I power it up. I have to replace the light seals, which is no problem, but I have never adjusted a rangefinder before. When I set it at infinity, I cannot quite align the images horizontally. There is also a slight vertical misalignment. The diamond is clean and the rangefinder is clear and bright. I have measured the indexed distances with a ruler, and when the images basically align, they are about 15% past the correct focus.
I really don't want to ruin this camera, but I also realize this must be a fairly simple adjustment to make. 1) Is this something I should take to a pro? 2) If so, can anyone recommend a good camera person in Minneapolis that won't fleece me. 3) If not, the repairs I've found online don't really help, because aside from describing a procedure, they don't really explain in any detail or show visually what I am supposed to be doing and what is supposed to happen, so I would really appreciate a good visual explanation of what needs to be done in order to get the rangefinder back in both vertical and horizontal alignment.
