Does anyone know where I can pick up a couple of take-up spools in the US? I wouldn't at all mind buying from overseas, but I really dont want to wait 2-3 weeks before trying out these little rangefinders.
If you've got an extra laying around that you want to sell/loan, that would be great, too!

The home made spools are ok for some cameras e.g. Kiev, others need a near replicia, e.g. leicia clones can be picky picky and not be interchangeable clone to clone.

Try the spool from your IIc.
I know the FSU spools need surgery for a IIIc but the IIc one may be ok, it will drop in, it should be just tight enough.
Sorry did not read your post carefull enough.
