Has anyone used this combo? Any issues? I want a small cheap flash and this fits the bill. I noticed it doesn't work with the Epson rangefinder, so that made me worried about the M8 as well.
Anyone? No?
Guess not...

Try a Nikon SB-30 or a Konica HX-18W. These both trigger the readylight/synch in the M8. They also both run in A mode.
The SB-30 can run on a rechargeable CR123A, has a built-in slave, multiple auto modes (4), limited tilt, TTL on film Nikons and several manual power factors (1, 1/8, 1/32), and plus/minus 1/2 stop exposure compensation. Did I mention that it also has a pop up diffuser and even an IR filter for use as a remote flash trigger? No open flash button, but it does have a flash defeat button that suppresses the flash without turning the flash off (and when the flash is in standby, wakes up the flash).
The HX-18W is slimmer, has manual mode, two auto modes, and an open flash button. It also runs on AA batteries.
