anyone use softbutton release on their electro, or lynx? Just curious to see some of actual users feedbacks.

I just bought an Electro 35 that has one I'am not using I will sell you cheap if you like? Also have the viewfinder & wide & tele lens also. The soft release should help like on my Leicas.

I use on Electro G35 (long and stiff release travel as on most FL RF's with AE), don't use on Lynxes (short and smooth release travel).

Yeah, I still use film...
I find the soft release to be very helpful on the Electro. It gives a much better feel IMHO. Get one.

I have a big old one on my GSN... as mentioned it helps a lot with that long throw, and with the shutter lock, no problem with accidental exposure.
FWIW -- I have a rectangular KONICA slr shade on mine.
Think it was originally for a 28mm lens, but it does the job.

As for hood, I used one for 50mm though it seems to vignette slightly so I attached one from Konica Auto S2. Have to try how it works.

thanks everyone for your feedback! now my next question is...
where can i find one?? haha.. i saw some online at rapidwinder but... i don't know. 19 bucks for a button!?!?
and the ones on ebay are cheaper but the buttons are concaved in... which i hear somewhat defeats the purpose of a 'soft' button.
anyone have an extra one!? hehehehe

I use concaved one and find it helps a lot. Look at fedka.com for ultimate price (I think it should be lower than on ebay). Uh, and one can transform concaved into convex!

It seems you wouldn't have any edges left.

hm, as long as there is physical release attachment, there are edges.
I mean finding or making convex lens shaped _something_ (glass?) and gluing into concave release to fill whole surface. At all depends on resources (financial, time, materials) available if it pays back to make it or buy ready.

lol thanks for the heads up guys. I emailed fedka to see if it'll fit the electro without any issues. as for the convex, concave button, i guess i'll have to try and see how it feels for me.
FWIW @newspaperguy - love the bresson quote.

So are you suggesting finding a convex shaped piece that would fit the contour of the concave soft release? I suppose you might get lucky finding something of the same contour to properly mate, and with the same diameter. But maybe you had something more specific in mind.hm, as long as there is physical release attachment, there are edges.

Mine is a big-assed (nearly 1/2 inch diameter) concave button. On the GSN, it's the length - or height if you prefer, that helps the most. The camera release pressure is fine, just way too much travel. (IMO)

First thing I imagine is a shop of wear buttons, I think there's one made from metal or glass, with proper shape and size, waiting to be adapted into different industry. If I can develop prints in plastic ice-cream boxes there are chances to find convex top for release, I guess. World helps for those in seek, isn't it?
