Just got my RD-1s from japan, my initial idea was to pick up a summilux since that's the lens I used for my test that sold me on the camera. Then I started looking at summicrons wondering if I really needed 1.4.. which led me to the Zeiss glass.. I can pretty much pick up a Zeiss 50/2 new for the price of a used Summicron.. wondering what others have experienced.. I'm probably going to use it to shoot portraits wide open most of the time.
thanks!
thanks!

sean reid's site has a test of the cv 1.5 the zm 2 and a leica lens (can't remember which, sorry).
the differences, with the rd-1, were almost negligible.
none were poor, i liked the zeiss the best, then the cv and then the leica.
he saw it differently, choosing the leica as favourite but he would not claim one to be best.
from my pov, with the zeiss lens, the background had a softer/smoother look to it. (not talking about bokeh)
