Great shots. Truly amazing, especially the tinted ones, that look the real deal.
I love the 1950s Leica strap on the front Contax, it looks truly authentic!

Great photos, Looks like it was an excellent event. Great collection of vehicles, re-enactors/living historians. .
Only thing that personally irks me are the M1944 goggles on one of the GIs in the second picture. They are a personal pet peeve of mine. There isn't any proof of these goggles of these goggles being used on any European front before March 1945.
I love the M1941 Johnson LMG stashed in one of the jeeps. The 20000 Johnson rifles promised to the Dutch East Indies ended up on the bottom of the Bay of Pigs unfortunately. Very rare these days.
That's my History Geek point of view fighting my inner photographer.
Thanks for sharing these.
I've got my Rolleiflex standard in pieces on my dinner table at the moment. Film transport is slipping

Desperate but not serious
Odd, I would have thought the Nike track pants would have been the real historical stand out?

Contax + Rollei. Just what Robert Capahad when he hit the beach in Normandy. Your pictures are amazingly similar! Great stuff. I always enjoy your pictures. Thanks for sharing these!

Great shots indeed, but a lot more casual than the simply horrible atmosphere of the original event. Lest we forget the extraordinary bravery by the Allies on that day.

May contain traces of nut
Kinda missing the stuff getting blown up, though, unless people want to remember the Anzio beachhead as some kind of beach party. Also missing some Krauts.

a group of the younger guys... are young enough and thin enough to look 'correct'.
That is rare. It seems a huge proportion of re-enactors get every period detail correct - except for the waistbands.

Good use of your "Capa combo" (though a 28/8 Tessar or pre-war 35/2.8 Biogon on the Contax would have been more authentic).
