I've a new to me Yashica 5000. Shutter and meter works but when I attempted to open the aperture (which was closed), three of of the five blades stuck open. Two blades still open and close. Are the stuck blades just stuck and need to be cleaned (best case) or are they damaged? And if damaged, is it just something bent or out of place?

My concern is studs are out of guides. If those three blades stay opened and don't move while two move, you have got problem. If studs are just out of guide, it's easy to put them back - though I guess that rather studs are broken off blades when someone forced frozen aperture.

Don't take this as last instance, though.

Thanks for the response.

I was worried that the studs were broken. You've given me hope that they may not be.

If you look at the blades through the back of the camera, starting at 12 o'clock, blades #1 and #2 move, blades 3, 4 and 5 ( I think I'm counting the blades correctly), do not move. I'm thinking that suggests they are out of the guide. They did open, maybe a bit stiff but I don't think they were frozen. Reminder to myself, move the aperture ring very gently back and forth if a camera has been sitting unused for awhile. and not open it wide the first time you move it as I did. I'm kicking myself because I think the camera was working. It had a film in it with 16 exposures taken. I always send found films away for processing. So far nothing of quality has come back, and thankfully nothing that would get me arrested.
