"Maggie" is a semi-finalist for a Shorty Award in Fashion. The Awards Gala is April 15th.

Maggie needs a camera. We are thinking a Leica "Q" maybe. It is a good travel camera and matches the output of my SL rather well.

I don't know what a Fuji look is, but I like it and they look good, compared to Leica
I don't know, the only print's I've seen lately were your black and white, John if
he's reading this new thread has a better idea of a Fuji look.

Cal, there's also the new digital CL, which seems to me to give very "modern" hi-res pictures perhaps matching the SL. The body is almost a bargain in Leica terms (sad but true) and if you find the lenses secondhand you can save money there. The body is much smaller than the Q and the APS-C size sensor seems to give nothing away to a full frame sensor.
I don't have an SL or a Q but I can recommend the CL.

Q would be nice for her Cal... especially if she is used to the iPhone: both being 28mm lenses.

What is the Fuji rendering like right out of the camera? Do the colors have a Fuji look?

I doubt the Fuji matches the SL exactly (due to totally different brand sensors)... the Q will do better since it has the same sensor. Different sensors have different, inherent looks. However, Leica is not known for great jpegs or great out of camera photos. Fuji is. The Leica CL with 18mm (28mm equivalent) could be closer and may be a better fit for her... being smaller. It might have better jpeg results since the APSC sensor might be made by someone different than Leica's FF sensor.

The new Leica CL is like a digital Leica IIIg while the Q is like a digital M6.

Regarding Fujifilm, the X100F might be up her alley as well...being stylish and pretty great.

MY VERDICT... Leica Q, Leica CL w/ 18mm, or Fujifilm X100F.

What about a Leica T? Very stylish, and it takes the same lenses as he cl, or even that huge 50mm off the SL. The bodies are cheap now, and it has a touch screen like her phone.

The Q is great
And a deal in Leica land
Blazing fast AF, Optical IS, fast f1.7 lens and a quiet leaf shutter
EVF is good enough
Looks sharp too, now in a million different limited-ish edition colors

Good point... does she want a VF or an LCD?

Another vote for the innovative T (TL2) which is very indicated for an Accidental Icon...functionality and style...
robert
PS: it can be used in the i.phone style or with the EVF as a more conventional photo camera...
