Are there small 28/35mm lenses for Nikon?

Hi Carlos,

Thanks! Those are the options I knew but don't fit my search:

I already got the 36-72 series E zoom for using it at 36 f/8-f/11...

About the CV40, I know with it I couldn't get enough DOF... Not as much as with a 28/35 at the same aperture, I mean... And the angle is a bit too closed for "being there"...

About the CV20, it must be nice, but apart from being too wide, I use the Nikkor 20mm 2.8 and like its close correction, and stopped down has nice sharpness/contrast, so getting another 20 would be too much...

As I own 20 and 50, the middle point to think of is a 35: I thought maybe some third party manufacturers could have made a small slow 35 for Nikon in the past, but perhaps it's not easy to make it small for SLRs, or maybe few people would buy a slow lens... If I could find one no faster than f/8, I'd get it immediately: I guess it would be possible to make it small and with a not too close MFD... I've also been about to buy "for years" the 35 AFD, but with the oily blades tales and the poor sharpness and sample variation tales, Yet I have no 35! I hope one day I can get a small one...

Cheers,

Juan

I have a Kyoei Acall 35mm f/3.5 in Exakta/Topcon mount which is tiny (and a nice performer) - it may also have been made in LTM, but so far I haven't seen indications of it having been made in another SLR mount. The mount end unscrews after loosening a grub screw or two, so that one should be adaptable.

I have a Vivitar 28/2.8 in F mount. It is about 60mm diameter with a 49mm filter thread, and is <40mm long from mount flange to filter thread. In external design and appearance it looks like it may have been made by Cosina, so the same lens may also be around in other brand names. One thing the manufacturer got wrong is that the focus ring turns in the opposite direction to Nikon lenses. I paid $40 for it some years ago.

Nikkor 35mm 2.8 AIS is the smallest nikkor in that range, I think. Maybe not small enough. Sharper than any other nikkors I've owned. Seems to actually be an f3.6 lens though, shame on you Nikon.
