Artist combines WWII and contemporary photographs.

Never seen anything like this before.

She's taken a collection of WWII photographs and perfectly double-exposed them into contemporary shots of the now peaceful and mundane locations that were depicted in the originals.

Jo's site seems to have gone viral over the weekend with news sites copying the articles from each other.

I'm sure she has made those photo collages from Amsterdam and other Dutch towns, I don't know if the others taken in France are her work to be honest.
 
@Mystyler "... fantastic, and bloody eerie." I see a lot of photography that I think is "good", but not a lot that effects me in such a visceral way as these.


@Bill58 "I saw those and wondered if those Allided troops were in the exact same place during WWII as depicted." Yes. She traveled to the locations of the original pictures, re-photographed the scenes, and then combined the images.
