A couple of weeks ago I managed to slip away from work to have 2 hours in Dharavi, a slum of almost a million people in Mumbai. In this timeframe, obviously you can't go too deep but when time permits I will return and spend a few days inside.

The images are all XP2 with the Mamiya 7II and the 65mm lens; and a lot of time with the Nikon 9000. Next time I will use real B&W film and bring the Leica as well...

All the images are here: Dharavi

Wonderful Craig!
Ironically, I see more genuine smile in these photos than those of the latest celebrity parties 🙂

Wow, great ones!
But frankly speaking I'd like to see whole set without those different versions of same pictures. 🙂

Personally I'd be nervous of walking around such a maze with camera gear, but the people in your shots look so friendly.

Well, I've lived in this part of the world for about 15 years so I have a reasonable feel for where I am. As well I would never go into a place like this without a local. Not for anymore than being able to talk to people, find interesting things and not get lost. I couldn't have gone into people's homes without this...

Good thinking. That would make thing much easier.
Thanks for sharing your images. 🙂
