I've recently bought a Zuiko lens from another RFF member and for your entertainment here is its progress through the international mail system:
06 Sept: acceptance USPS Oakland
07 Sept: arrived/departed/processed through USPS facility San Francisco
08 Sept: arrived/departed SFO
08 Sept: departed LAX
10 Sept: "Your item departed a transfer airport in KINGSFORD SMITH, SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA on September 10, 2016 at 10:36 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination."
02 Oct: delivered to destination (only 20km from airport as the crow flies).
Now I guess I'll have to clean up the slime trail from my front gate to the porch!

That is impressively slow. Don't slip on your step on the way out!
I can't beat that in Melbourne, but as a counterpoint I have received packages from Denmark in less than 3 days door to door. USPS around 10 days.
Hope the lens is fast, at least
