Award Winner, Photo of the Day, January 13, 2013

Congratulations. The image is a very good one.
I have tried to take photos of similar situations, with the door to a mosque open.

Lovely indeed...The Colour, The storyline, & Composition is Wonderful...A Wonderful Photo
Sweet , that it Won being the Ricoh GX100...an Old Camera (which I love) beats out probably lots of Hi Tech Digi Gear ...YES !!~
Well Done, Well Deserved...Congrats !

Congratulations Keith !

In ref to their scoring system:
I know, everybody wants to measure everything, give a point or percentage rating and then you go to the bottom line and get a tally-up.
It's a lot easier than to explain the score, the verdict of the jury verbally.
The one with the highest number is the winner, pretty simple.

This reminds me very much of the movie "Dead Poets' Scociety" with Robbin Williams.
The first thing he did when he started the class was making the students rip out the rules on how to measure a poem.

"rip out the rules"

I like that.

Thanks Paul, Helen, Klaus. To be honest, I really don't enter these things. I was personally invited, though through it, it became a battle of jpeg vs. RAW. Is it not the image? Though the story might be interesting, in the end, does it matter how one gets there? Just food for thought. I don't want to start another battle!

I do love that Ricoh. It's been around and looks it.

Ah damn, and I was just looking up the GX100/GX200 with supreme interest. This may of pushed me further into the hole. 😱 Great shot and congrats.

'Bout the raw vs jpeg thing, does the GX100/GX200 take a long time to write RAW, and has RAW+JPG only like the GRD series?
