Sydney Camera Market is on Sunday March 19.

See you there? I've been to two of these so far and have failed to recognise anyone from rff.
Maybe this time. I'm after a Jupiter 9 or any ltm portrait lens (cheap is best - good glass of course) so if you see one get it hold it shout out my name. :D

I'll try to find out the start time and update this thread.

Bummer! I'm already committed to a trip south on that weekend.

But I've put the 23rd of July into the diary.

That's a shame Chris. You're one of the few (2) rff'ers that I would recognise.
Hope I see you in July.

I'll be there at the next one, whenever it is .. planning to move to Sydney from Adelaide when I finish my thesis, but I'm not quite done yet. :)

I look a bit like the guy <- on the left there.
But about ten years older (10kg bigger) and I may not wear that outfit on the day. :)

Hey you guys, thanks for the heads up! I picked up a few odds and ends I really needed -- lens caps, filters, couple of small camera bags. 4x5 film holders. Um, a Nikon EM... Someone gave me a cable release. I didn't see much RF stuff, a few Leicas and 90/135 lenses, someone selling Chinese "Leicas" for too much, a couple of Contessas, various other vintage fixed-lens cameras.

It was fun, I stayed a lot longer than I expected.

This was the best one that I have been to (might be my fourth?).

There were less stalls than last time but I think they (the missing stalls) were the people trying to get retail (and better) prices.

So. I got bargains!

First one was from a fellow RFFer - thedilettante who sold me a lens before we went into the market. A very shiny Canon 85/1.9. Heavy too. Finally I won't have to use my feet to zoom in!

I got a XA for $25! OK, it is a little bit iffy but the speeds sound OK. Came with a Flash too. I might need to pull it apart for a lens clean (or to wreck it completely). Test roll first.

Petri meter that sits in the accessory shoe and works and looks cool. Will make my Zorki 4 look great and perhaps increase my exposure success rate.

4 rolls of out of date film for $5.

OM 2x converter (I've always wanted one for when I go traveling). Glass looks clean but these are notoriously average. $10.

A cute little chrome snake wrist strap $2.

Right angle view finder for those on-ground or round-corner shots $20.

fun.

Bit disappointed

Bit disappointed

It wasn't quite as good as I'd expected - maybe because I arrived a little late but there seemed to be only a few rangefinders on offer. There was a beat up Contessa and some overpriced Leicas, but I came away empty handed. I was tempted by a nice Summitar that I saw, but not at the price (close to 400) being asked. So I went home and got a pristine Elmar 3.5/50 the next day on ebay for two hundred bucks instead. I look forward to comparing it to my Summar.
