If you contact http://www.schneideroptics.com/contact/contact.htm on the East Coast (USA) on request they will unmount your new 39mm filter so that you can install it in your old Summitar filter ring. It is possible unscrew the B & W yourself with the right sized rubber O ring, but it is far safer for them to use their dedicated tool.
Keep in mind that it is best to have a screw in retainer type of filter, the swedged type will work but it is NOT worth the time and effort. I have successfully used that type but it is more than a small job.
A spanner wrench is all you need for the screw in type type.
Yes, the the traditional mount screw in ring filter was made by Leitz for the Summitar, but they are probably found in a 1 out of 10 ratio. They usually cost the same. Keep looking!
Why bother? The old lenses did not have the UV protection usually provided by lens cement.
