FYI, I sent my M9 for sensor replacement to Leica NJ mid-May and received it back last week, so at least in my case, turnaround was only ~7-8 weeks. I only received one communication from Leica during that time: a confirmation of receipt. I was not contacted about whether or not I wished to exchange/upgrade instead of servicing it (through I didn't ask for this option in the paperwork included with the camera). The only other communication was an email from UPS with the tracking number the day before it arrived home.
