Hello Bangkok photographers,
I'll be in Bangkok tomorrow and staying for a couple of weeks. I'm looking to do some work on a 6x6 camera, particularly Mamiya 6. Anyone in the area willing to let me borrow one for a little while? In return I can offer a Fuji GA645 for you to borrow.
The reason is I was in Bangkok last year and did some work in 6x6 and would like to add more to that work and keep the format consistent.
Let me know if you can help me out or know anyone that could.
Cheers!

Hello Dunn,
I checked 120 film prices at my lab and they are about the same as B&H. I looked at Kodak Portra 160 and 400, Kodak tri-x and some ilford HP 5.
Sorry, but I do not know of anyone with a Mamiya 6 camera.
Cheers, Michael

Which lab do you use?
Also, if you interested in meeting up one day in Bangkok, just let me know.

Hi Ben,
I use Color Image lab which is across from Central Lad Prao. There are a bunch of labs located next to Union Mall, but they tend to vary in quality when it comes to developing color film. I've been using my lab for around 8 years and they develop a lot of color film so the chemicals are fresh and I never have any problems with them. I've dropped off test rolls at some of the other labs and the results weren't that good (dirty negatives). If you are just looking to buy film, then any of the labs will do because they all sell basically the same film.
I'm down to meet up for a day, I read that you will be in Bangkok for a month, so feel free to shoot me a PM with your contact info.
Cheers, Michael

Hi Michael,
your lab, Color Image Lab, are they also offering E6 processing?
And if yes, is their E6 quality on the same high level as their C41 quality?
I am asking because I perhaps will travel to Thailand this year.
Thanks and cheers, Jan

Unfortunately nobody in Thailand processes E-6 anymore. On the rare occasion that I shoot a roll, I wait for my yearly trip back to California to get it developed.

Well, that is not quite correct, because UNG Shop in Chiang Mai is doing E6.

And some time ago I heard of another E6 lab in Bangkok, but unfortunately I've forgotten the name, therefore my question.

Looks like UNG has recently changed its name to "Rakuda Photo Artisans". But location and service seem to be the same:

I've written about Rakuda, as well as Neno, in a thread on film processing in Chiang Mai. Khun Neno was the photography teacher at Chiang Mai University of the owner of Rakuda, Khun Taa.
I've used Neno's for C41. Good service. The lab usually opens at 2pm because it stays open until 10pm or later. Situated at Ladprao 80, the traffic is heavy coming from central Bangkok in rush hours. That means most people go there after dinner. Best to call in advance before going to make sure the lab is open. The phone number is on the Neno Camera Facebook page. Same for Rakuda.
I've found Rakuda and Neno better than the larger Bangkok labs.

Patani is not far from Hua Lamphong, dropped in a few times. A true Enthusiast
Think Airlab also have E6, it's a bit of trudge to get there though

No idea either where you can find a Mamiya 6, but you may run into some photo nerds who attend the 8x8 festival (http://www.monogramasia.com/8x8-in-bangkok/) this weekend?
