Hello gang. It looks like I will be travelling to Bangkok in March to finally pay a long promised visit to Michael Bialecki and Thailand itself. Anyone else around? Recommendations, warnings?

(JON YE TOSSER, YE BETTER SWING YER OLD AUSSIEBUTT BY!)

Will be in Bangkok, Phi Phi and Krabi from March 17-26. Hoping to do some street shooting while in Bangkok.
Havent figured out yet what to see there so further info would be great as well.

Simon! Man who walks through door sideways! Ok, enuf of that, I'll just call yer laddie. So you think Bangkok is in the general neighbourhood and I can just swing my AUSSIEBUTT by from Yokohama eh? Asia is big. Really big. Yokohama to Bangkok is about the same as the distance from Berlin to Baghdad. You could walk to Baghdad. I'd have to swim to Bangkok, and I can't swim! That said, I probably do have enough JAL miles to snag a free flight down there thus negating the swimming requirement, so you never know, I might just be able to swing by, laddie!

Be warned, March is one of the hottest months. I am in Thailand right now and walking anywhere between 11:00 and say 3:00pm is very, very uncomfortable due to the sun and humidity. If you can stay in the shade, it is not so bad.

And Bangkok begs to be shot in color! And of course drink lots of water and I find a baseball cap and sun glasses essential. Purified, cold water is sold almost everywhere and is super cheap.

i'm ok with the heat, i've lived in turkey and i've survived japan and okinawa in summer. more annoyed by mosquitos and a potential lack of australian nikon nerds (building the pressure...)

I'll be in Bangkok, the last two weeks of March. I'm always up for some street shooting -- had a great time there last April shooting film.

I'm lucky that my GF is originally from Bangkok - makes it a lot easier to get around and communicate!
