I've started a little project in my down time. I've been shooting portraits "street style" in bars. Everything on my M8, available light, high iso. I'm having a lot of fun with it, and I've only been threatened once! (so far anyway) If you get a moment, please have a look and share your comments. I'm ready for the good, bad and ugly....

URL is www.barportraits.com

Thanks,

James

I tried this in England in the 1970s (HP4 at 400) but gave up because I met with roughly equal parts of friendliness and hostility.

Some nice work. I enjoy taking a lot of candids & informal portraits in bars, clubs, etc. (as the saying goes, "shoot what you know" :p ), too, though I am way too lazy & disorganized to fashion them into an actual project.

It would be interesting to see your original color files, though.

Thanks

My original files?, or are you referring to the op?

Yes, I was referring to Mr. Klotz, the original poster. as all of his shots are from an M8, but are presented in B&W.

Thanks for the comments, it's been a fun project. Here is a random shot in color for comparison. Pretty much came out of the camera this way - no sharpening to avoid noise of a high iso shot, processed in lightroom, Lens was a CV 50/1.5, probably wide open if I remember correctly. I like the colors the M8 produces.
