A few months back I bought a Nikon EM at a camera show. Why? Because it was dirt cheap and endearingly small and plasticky compared to my bulletproof FM and FE's. The very same evening it slipped of my couch and the shutter wouldn't cock anymore :(

When I bought my M2 and had it CLA'd, I asked the guy who did it if he could fix my EM. He could. Last weekend I went out shooting with the M2 and the EM. Almost comical, the precision and craftmanship of the M2 + summicron versus the plastic, incredibly loud and clattering EM with a 50mm 'E'.

But as you all know, even with a cheap combo like that results can be very good indeed, see below. Film was Fuji Superia 200, B/W conversion in Photoshop.

Good shot ronald. I've just been in a charity shop today and seen;

Konica Big Mini - £3
Nikon F55 and zoom - £15
Canon Demi C half frame
Canon T50 and 50mm - £18
plus a few plastic compacts,

and do you know I manged to walk out of the shop without buying anything. Maybe I need to go back.

I would probably have bought the F55 and T50... I should check out the local charity shop soon...

Anyway, I use the Nikon Coolscan V scanner. I tamed the grain a bit with Neat Image and played with curves to get this tonality and contrast. About three minutes work.

FrankS, the Canon Demi wasn't in great condition. i thought the inside looked a bit dirty/rusty so I didn't inspect it further.
