if anyone is looking for an adaptor for yashica gtn etc.i found one in the uk on ebay, its brass and after much diliberation because of that,i decided to try it. it makes the camera a little heavier but not by much, but it works fine look up contessaisis on the bay i would put a link but im hopeless on the computor hope this helps someone .

I wonder how big that adapter should be if you have noticed brick-like GTN felt heavier ?

I just ordered an adapter, I've got a box with a GSN, GTN, and a GL in it, and I won't know if any of them work until I get the adapter fitted. Unfortunately the adapter costs as much as I paid for all 3 cameras.

Criscam is worth the investment. The adapter has a circuit that generates the same power as the mercury batteries. Did you buy from them?

This is totally unnecessary. The Electro works perfectly on 6 volts.

Just FYI... :D

EXACTLY. Get a PX28A sorround it with paper to fill the space; then get a small spring and fill the gap beteewn the + of the battery and the battery cap.

Use a 410 shotgun shell.....

Use a 410 shotgun shell.....

I bought two from a fellow on eBay (out of Arizona). Turned out to be made out of a 410 shotgun shell, cut down almost to the base, rivet in the primer hole, perfect fit, worked well. I recall a small spring inside in contact with the rivet and the battery neg side.

$10 for two.

Otherwise, and I did this also, YashicaGuy:

www.yashicaguy.com has various battery adaptors for almost all the Yashica RF cameras. Very inexpensive and has a new battery with it.

Everything is made out of used bullets, even chile rellenos :p
