So I want to do medium format with my Beseler 23CII. 6x7 from my Mamiya 7 to be specific. So I order a film carrier then figure out the 50mm lens won't work witout vignetting. I get a 110mm lens from a friend. Then discover I need a lens board for it. After weeks on back order it finally gets here and from lots of Googling it is what is recommended. In short I can make it work, I think but.
Before I ordered the lens board I figured out the problem was the bellows needed to travel further to focus so the lens board extends the lens out slightly. But from what I can tell it still could use a little more travel. I can focus the image but I have to extend the bellows out until it is at it max and then raise and lower the head for final adjustment.
I really think the whole process should be easier than this. Am I missing something or is the 23II capable of MF but barley?
There is a marking on the light bellows head that you set for different formats and the upper most setting reads 110mm, so I would think putting it there would be where it goes but still I have to extend the focus bellows to the max to get focus. Is this normal?
Sorry for the long story but I want you to have as much info as possible. If anyone of you develop MF with a 23II tell me how you work it out? It looked to me from the begining that the lens board needed to extend the lens further but that is what was called for by the specs, Adorama and B&H both recommend the same board... Thanks.
