Bessa R2 with Summaron 35mm goggled?

I am about to get a Summaron 35mm f/2.8 M3 with the M3-matching eyepiece. I don't got no M3 though (or 4 or 6 or 7 etc). I got a VC Bessa R2 and it appears from photos that the Summaron eyepiece will not only not match but actually block the light meter window. What happens if I take the eyepiece off? I read somewhere this messes up the rangefinder coupling? I don't get why it would but.... anyone know? Where's that Gandy fella? He know??? (He knows everything....)

Umm, I'm fairly certain that the R2 doesn't have a light meter window--AFAIK all the current Bessas(L,T,R, R2, R2A/M, R3A/M, R4A/M) have TTL metering. If the goggles won't line up correctly with the viewfinder and rangefinder windows, the lens won't be very usable on your R2. I suppose you could focus by the distance scale and frame with an external VF.
One of two choices likely would work better: either get an M3 or get a 35mm lens that will work on the R2.

Umm, I'm fairly certain that the R2 doesn't have a light meter window--AFAIK all the current Bessas(L,T,R, R2, R2A/M, R3A/M, R4A/M) have TTL metering....

Rob, Thank you. I too thought the Bessa R2 had TTL metering except there's this milky white window between the viewfinder glass and what I assume is the rangefinder window which I then took to be the lightmeter. I'm probably mistaken about that. I should read the manual, eh? Meanwhile, having seen some lovely pictures online by a guy using the Bessa R and 35mm f/2.8 summaron, I mistakenly assumed this would work; I've now sent it back. Those M2 35mm f/2.8 Summarons, umm, cost about double what you can get the M3 goggled version for, and now I know why. I think I'll get me a M3 someday.

Meanwhile, I looked the thing over; saw nothing in the rear of the lens that would couple with anything to alter the focusing but again my mechanical understanding is so rudimentary I don't have any confidence in it. It's thoroughly not clear to my why if you took those goggles off your rangefinder wouldn't focus properly. Perhaps Memphis or some other interested member will feel like explaining....
