Hi there,

I've been reading RFF ever since 2 months ago when I decided to go the RF way. I'd like to say thanks. This is one of a kind forum and I've learned a lot here - still enjoying the amazing pictures that you guys take.

So I finally bit the bullet and ordered a Bessa R2M 250th anniversary kit. I was used to consumer DSLR's/SLR's and I was just impressed with the packaging, the build quality and the handling in general. I ordered it with the CV strap, side grip and later bought a B+W filter and an optech pouch to protect it.

After shooting a first roll I sent them for processing at a shop that charged me a premium for processing b&w and doing the prints on 'special' b&w paper that turned out to be normal digital paper. I suspect they scanned the negatives and printed digital 🙁

Anyway, that prompted me to take out an old dusty flatbed scanner that I had. It came with a negative scanning thing that I had never used - I'm quite pleased with the results and I'm thinking that next time I'll just pay for processing and scan the negs at home. Here are a couple of shots - c&c most welcome.

Both on TX-400

I hate places that stick people with bw charges. All of my bw film here is color scanned and printed on normal color paper, I got a good lab tha does up my xp2 then scans, tweeks with photoshop and then prints, good guys, lousy film processing though, dirty negs.

As for your photos, they have that strong voightlander look, dark blacks and what not, pretty neat, although the photos dont look all that sharp, it might just be the scanner

Thanks Nightlight. I have the same Bessa kit and need to get off my rusty dusty, figure out how to post photos on this site and post some examples.

If anyone wants to help me figure this out, please proceed.
