I have the bessa r3a and I just purchased the 75mm color-heliar lens with the adapter. The lens seems to work okay but the lens does not screw all the way so that the depth of field scale is centered on the body. It seems to need to screw on an additional 1/4 of an inch. This is difficult to explain, hope you can understand. IS this normal??

Thanks
GAry

The alignment you mention need not be exact for correct focusing, from what I hear; some misalignment is normal. Yours seems a bit on the large side. Why don't you do some tests, with the lens wide open... set the camera on a tripod to eliminate any unsteadiness, and take pictures of objects at different distances, carefully focused. Then examine the negatives under strong magnification to see if there's any sign of focusing errors. One way or another, that can guide your next actions. A camera repairman could also check your focus accuracy on his bench.
