Hello!
If you only had one hour on a Saturday in Central London to look for Leica stuff,- shopping or jut having a look,- wher would you essentially go?
Will be there just for a weekend!
best regards and thanks Wolfhard

Aperture Photographic at 44 Museum Street (near New Oxford St.) is a great spot. Lots of used stuff and you can get a decent coffee there too!

Aperture is just around the corner from the classic camera, up until recently a main Leica dealer, and if you go a few minutes onto New Oxford street you have Jacobs, it has a lot of second hand stuff but only a few pieces of it are Leica.

+1 for Aperture, (but you may as well check out The Classic Camera while you are there, as it is only round the corner)

Coffee shop in the back, friendly and usually some interesting things to check out

Another vote for Aperture. Classic Camera isn't far from there, but Aperture gets my vote and my money

Another vote for Aperture and Jacobs. Don't forget RG Lewis http://www.rglewis.co.uk/ just around the corner in High Holborn. Don't waste your time or money in Classic Camera. Try Red Dot Cameras in Old Street: http://www.reddotcameras.co.uk/ Also London Camera Exchange on the Strand, and Richard Caplan just off Jermyn Street http://www.richardcaplan.co.uk/

I remember it as a frightfully expensive place and not so friendly.

...... classic camera, up until recently a main Leica dealer,......96
And they are not a main dealer now? I wonder why?

I second the recommendation of Aperture, the only camera shop in that area I like wholeheartedly. London Camera Exchange on the Strand also have some interesting things from time to time, as do Jacobs but their prices can be a little crazy...

Aperture are excellent. Classic Camera are smug and dismissive. In my experience.

Short trip to London!
Short trip to London!
Hello! I`m back and recovered from night ferry and bus coach drive back home !
Short, but very intensive.
I also liked "Aperture"! Very good coffee, indeed. I found the collection of Nikon F`s and F2`s fascinating, hadn`t seen so many nice samples in years!
Unfortunately I was just about6 too late for Richard Caplan. From what I could see around his shop door he muat have the most impressive presence of vintage M-models. I will have to come back!
Thanks again for the good advice, best regards Wolfhard
PS. Friday nicht at Picadilly Circus , Kodak 400 TX and Xtol. 35 Summilux , unfortunately a bit shaken.
