Hi,
Just thought I would ask where a good place to find a Ricoh Gr-digital is. I have checked ebay but they are few and far between. I would rather buy from someone on the forum who has either out grown the camera or upgraded to the GR2.
I have heard mixed reviews of the camera...what are your thoughts is it worth buying ? Is it worth saving up and buying the gr2 the raw write speed of the gr1 is slow but I think it is something I could work with considering the camera is more of a real camera than a point n shoot.
Any reviews on the camera/advice on if its a good buy or not would be appreciated. Also if anyone has one collecting dust in good shape I am interested.
Thanks in advance you guys are great.
P.S. The work of Mitch Alland with this camera is incredible. The sensor in the camera is small but I am more looking for something that I can carry with me at all times and shoot in low light. I would like to blow up photos, how large can prints be made with camera?

Popflash has a demo of the first version on its website. Put GRD in the search box and scroll down when you get the results.

I got mine from Tony (PopFlash) and he is GREAT to buy from. You never know what he has in the store room. Drop him an email or give him a call. I've been really impressed by him.

Get a CV 28mm Metal Brightline finder in black (from Stephen) for those times when the LCD should not be on and you are set! I used mine outside a few weekends back when it was so cold I was worried about the battery running out. It worked GREAT.
The price on the demo is a steal, just do it!

POPFLASH !!!!!! IS AWESOME : ))) I just received mine the other day .....
THe Grd is a great camera but I think the Raw write speed of the Grd2 makes the upgrade worth it ..... Sean Reid has a review on his site about both cameras ....
Another great site that may be worth looking at ....

Mitch uses Lightzone to process his images and gets awesome results .... I have been using Lightroom and am very pleased with the results . Also been Trying Silkypix ,another awesome piece of software .
There is a firmware update for the GRD ....... which is pretty cool of Ricoh ,keeping the older camera current .......
Check out the above link to Get DPI ... many great threads about these two cameras .... and others

You are right that the raw write speed on the GR-D I is a bit slow. OK, really slow. But I'm not a fast shooter most of the time. Even though I had RapidWinders on both my Ms, I did not use it often. I'm more of a sniper, sit and wait for the right shot. You can save some money going for the MRK I vs the II. Either way it's a Kick A55 camera and PopFlash is THE place to get it from!

I bought mine from Popflash, and when it needed service Tony was very helpful. Runs like new now (better in fact).

Another vote for Popflash here. There's several original GR-Ds listed at the moment.
