Hey guys... does anyone know where to get the cheapest but also a working collapsible m39 lens? Thanks.
I kind of want one now for the compactness... I see though that they're quite expensive $40-50??

is that normal?

thank you.

It'll be hard to find a scratch free one for less. I gambled on a few cheaper ones a year or two ago and ended up with a passable one and two that were scratched enough to easily impact images. Much more glow than I was looking for.

As for where to buy, I picked one up front Fedka that I'm fairly happy with. It does well unless I point it at something bright and then the light cleaning marks on the front cause some flare.

I still may pick up a nicer one some time as it does make a good collapsible lens but don't really want to take take more chances gambling. If Fedka listed one in top condition again I may go for it but ebay is too hit and miss.

You're not in the US, right? Over here, I would only buy from Fedka. You pay a little more but the shipping is super fast and you get a good one.

On ebay, it's buyer beware. It's gotten really nasty with all this cr4p some FSU sellers are trying to offload as LTM lenses. Almost all with BIN pricing, too. Just lying in wait for some poor sucker who doesn't realize how much the shipping is, or that he's buying an enlarger lens, or that it's missing the focussing stage. The worst are the ones that peddle the I-69 as a "wide angle lens" for LTM.

If you must do ebay from the FSU, buy a body with lens, then sell the body. Usually the better deal.

OK. I've looked at Yuri's site and I see lenses that come up to around $50 total, I'll definitely save up and get those instead.

thanks so much!

Just picked up a beautiful FED 50 from Yuri at his Fedka store. Several purchases from him and I can't go back to eBay. My camera and my 4 lenses from him have been EXCELLENT ! Great guy too.
