For a second there.. I thought this was that Ebay seller that kept putting that ridiculous auction online for $50,000+ for his "collection" of rare Leica, Rollei, and other brands cameras.

That guy kills me..

Wow, will he be busy the week after the auctions end... there is some tough to find items here, and some items that are just in tough shape. Interesting bunch, and already some high bids. And where else can you see 2 thambar lenses for sale, starting at $9.99 (Can.)? Or, a pretty large collection of rangefinders.. not cameras, just rangefinders.

This must have been fun to check over, as there are some very obscure items, and a couple that I noticed that are a bit off... but expected with this big an assortment.

Wonder if there's any center-spot filters to go with them thar Thamber lenses (sic).

Like Dave, I was ready to make a comment about the individual who posts a collection of "rare Leicas and Rolleis" for over $50,000. And he refuses to sell separately.

I recall that someone advanced the theory that this must be someone who, pressed by his better-half to sell or get lost, posts the stuff for sale at impossible prices so that he can say in the end "I tried to sell all my gear, but there were no takers."

As for this nostalgia guy... I will spend some fun time perusing the offers. Did someone say a Thambar lens? I must find out! :)
 
Makes me think that the day after I go to the big darkroom in the sky, my wife or son puts my collection up for auction or garage sale.

Wow. That's an impressive ecclection... guess I'd better get busy !

Are there still shows like this in the US ?


In the e-bay lot, I noticed a Nickel Elmar 50 with the Infinity-lock plunger removed: I wonder if that was done some 70 years ago, so that someone could use it on their new Leica III ?

I put in a couple of bids, Just to see what happens. I'll probably get outbid at the last second, as usual....
 
I smell "crazy people"....

Some of the LTM stuff is already taking-off, like the Leica "Reporter"...

There's even a Compur-Leica B !

The shop is 15 mins away from me. I wonder if the seller would sell anything in store instead of the hassle on ebay... will give them a call tomorrow.
