I had the Leica CL out on my walk yesterday, first time I've carried a digital camera in some weeks. And, as usual, the quality of this body along with the superb lenses makes me smile a lot...

Bird Feeder - Santa Clara 2021

ISO 100 @ f/2 @ 1/1000 sec

Having just read the title, for a moment there I thought you, or someone else, had made a useful, beautiful bird feeder from that worthless ancient box of gears and springs.

You've put that combo to fine use here, Godfrey. The famous glow from that lens is entrancingly woven into the scene. Well done!

Thank you!

The magic of the Mandler Summilux 35 is that the aperture ring gives you a wonderful range of rendering capabilities ... from "glow and the feel of a light Zeiss Softar filter" wide open to razor sharp everywhere at f/5.6 and smaller stops. And it's a tiny, light weight lens too. It's a perfect fit on the CL body, and of course my favorite lens on any camera: a fast normal. :)
