Birthday present

Dear RFF friends,
I would like to share with you a wonderful surprise.
Last May 13 I received from my sister a great and unexpected present for my birthday: a Nikon F with a Nikkor 50 mm f2 lens and the FTn photomic.
I am going to load a film for my next weekend photographic adventure.
Any comment, suggestion, advice from you will be considered of course.

I have a converted pre-AI Nikkor 50/2 that I think is an amazing lens. I never used it much because I got wrapped up in thinking "faster is better", so I also got a couple 50/1.8 lenses and a 50/1.4 that I used more often. But, the 50/2 was noticeably awesome with close-in subjects... And yes, then along came a 55/2.8 Micro-Nikkor...and I'm ashamed to say it didn't stop there 🙂

I think you're going to really like the 50/2. I'm the furthest thing from an expert on Nikon lenses, but I think I heard that the earlier pre-AI 50/2 is better than later versions. Hogwash?
