Canon LTM Black RF cameras

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Funny, I saw the same black Canon P and asked the same question over on photo.net - even sent a question to pacific rim camera.

The replies I got back said that a true, original black Canon P should have black strap lugs as well as black rewind lever - this one has chrome. If the camera didnt looks so nice I'd say that maybe those parts were replacement parts - but the way it looks makes me believe that this is a repainted Canon P.
It also seems to miss the lever next to the lens.

Gorgeous camera nonetheless.

yes, looks nice in black. a bit high priced paintjob...
What's missing here is the self timer lever, which on black cameras have white dots.

high priced stuff. Got my 7 and a mint 0.95/50 for together 900 bucks.

Taunus, like so many things in like collectible items are priced not always because of functionality but because of how rare they are - and that there are people that have the interest and means to collect them.

Nothing wrong with that and no difference from collecting stamps, coins, watches, etc :)

Nice lens for the 7. Got some photos taken with that kit to post here? Would love to see.

..."nice", your kidding :) it looks' cool, impressive and kindofa monster...but makes interesting pictures wide open ;-)

Another 50mm F0.95 user! I need to upload some more shots from mine.

This Canon P has got to be a repaint. The shutter curtain has a lot of "wrinkles" which indicate use. The paint job is perfect. It is just not possible to use a camera that much and not get some wear, even if it is kept in a case and removed only to load and unload. The paint jobs are expensive; this one by Shintaro would have run about $700. It is nice looking, and sold for the price of a Canon P with a trip to Shintaro. The seller should have forked out the extra money and had the curtains replaced.

It doesn't say "originally black" but one can suggest. The seller doesn't respond to my question in this concern... true, the shutter curtain looks very scuffed. I think in case of a Canon the shutter tells the truth about what life the camera have had.
