I wasn't sure where to put this, so it's going in here. Blackmagic have just announced a pocketable video camera with a Sony NEX-like form factor and a 16:9 Super 16 size sensor. It takes m43 lenses and offers 13 stops of dynamic range! Thirteen! It promises to have IQ close to the original Blackmagic Cinema Camera that is like a baby Arri Alexa in image quality.

This is what someone did with an original Blackmagic Cinema Camera on holiday:

Look at that colour and dynamic range!
For a less processed and more natural look, check this out, particularly where the girl is talking on the phone. Skin tones, texture and sharpness like nothing I've seen under $5000. It makes 5D Mark II footage look like it is shot through a veil of marshmallows. And I've never seen GH3 or GH2 footage look this nice, either.

The upcoming Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera claims to have image quality very close to this. And I can use all my m43 lenses on it! It would be a great companion for the OM-D, and it takes all the edge off any desire for a Panasonic GH3. I could use a stabilized lens like the Pana 12-35 and have a fantastic walkaround video camera that will slip easily into a shoulder bag. I know this is RFF, but part of what draws me to RF's is the having awesome image quality and handling in a small package.
