I need two new blades for a Copal SV shutter. This is on a Konica S which ic lovely and otherwise working, even the selenium meter, but two of the blades have been damaged in a coming together. Unlikely as this might be, any ideas where I could get two more? Failing that, anyone want an almost-working Konica S with Hexanon 48mm f1.8?

You might try SK Grimes in the US, assuming that a variety of Copal shutters use the same blades. But it might be cheaper to find a non-working Konica S on e-bay.

Many other cameras used the Copal SV shutter, including the Canonet, Yashica Lynx 5000 and the Yashicamat TLR and many more camera brands.

Do your research and you can pick up a parts camera off Ebay for not much money.

Thanks for the replies, I haven't contacted Grimes yet but have been trying some other avenues, so far in vain. There are indeed a great many Copal SV shutters out there - but such a variation right up to large format that I've found it impossible to figure out which cameras use the same shutter, as in, similar enough to be able to use the parts. So I'm still looking, any info would be helpful, otherwise anyone is free to ask me about buying this one to fix their own, or have a go themselves.

Good find! None of those in the UK alas and the shipping is horrendous.

From what I've seen on t'internet the Yashica Lynx shutter has the same blades, but none of those going cheap right now. I am trying to find out if the Electro is the same too, any ideas anyone?

Electros have straight edged blades, change from Lynx 5000.

13 dollars shipping from Canada to the UK is not horrendous or unreasonable.

It is less than the cost of 2 visits to the coffee-shop with the mermaid logo.

Plus the same model of camera will give you many spare parts for future use.

xayraa sorry but I couldn't see the shipping to UK cost on the ad? As you say $13 isn't bad

Thanks for the link Crazy

Well I'll close this off in case it's useful for someone else. I eventually landed a real beater of a Beauty Lightomatic II, maybe 90% of it, which had the required bits. It was still a bit of a job (read: epic struggle of Titanic proportions) but it's now back together and just needs collimating etc. Thanks all for your help, I'm hoping it's worth the trouble!
