So, I developed my test roll for the F that I just got. At first glance it seemed fine (aside from my exposures being off from a faulty handheld meter) but tonight I noticed a blob or something on many of the frames. It's not on all of them.

Here's some examples. (top left-ish) I noticed some when previewing my scans, but thought it was just some water spots, but It's always in the same spot and the same shape, at least on the ones it's on, so that rules out the water spots. I'm hoping it's just a hair or something, but wouldn't that show as white on the scan? I would open it up and look inside, but I have a roll of film in there. Any thoughts?

Nevermind (I hope)

I decided to take the film out mid-roll and have a look and found a small hair stuck behind the shutter curtain. I got it out with tweezers. Finishing up the roll will let me know for sure if that was the problem.

Is it on the negatives, or just the scans? If on the negs, it's a classic "hair in the gate." I don't know what one calls the equivalent in a scanner.

But...

How did it even work?!

long story, let me try to cut it short.

i bought a well used rollei 35, which needed a bit of care taking. i didn't know the camera well, so, when removing the top cover, i didn't turn it upside down. result: the connecting rod and the washer from the release button assembly fell down, into the camera body. the rod i found easily, but i didn't even miss the washer.

2 days later, film freshly developed, i noticed a round white area on a number of frames, near the corner. i looked up the gate, and there it stuck. you can even discover a trace of oil on the scans from that film.

that camera took some weeks until i had it fixed. works well ever since...

guess it was too small to really disturb the film transport.

Unlikely, but ... is that Liquor sign from Leucadia? The one there had the I and Q out the last time I passed it.
