Held at FerrumCollege every year, it shows how area life was back in the olden days with displays of buildings, farm implements, animals, music, food, crafts, and some old cars and hot rods.

It does pay to have some back-up when shooting something like this. I had planned on using my Nikon F100 outfit, but I forgot to put some fresh batteries in it the night before, so it died right after three frames. I switched to my trusty Nikon P7700 digital that I brought along mainly to shoot videos, but which now had to the duty of being the main camera. I don’t like using it outdoors on a bright day because the shiny screen makes it difficult to see exactly what I am getting, so I mostly aim in the general direction of the subject while looking over the top of the camera, and hope it captures what I want it to.

Here are some of the 39 stills, and four videos that I considered displayable.
