I saw "Far From the Madding Crowd" movie recently, and was amazed at how dominant the bokeh was in many of its scenes. There is one scene where the heroine (Julie Christie) is interviewing for farmhands, and as they step forward, they emerge from a smooth nondescript background, into sharp focus. Other scenes are just beautiful, with the countryside background in full bokeh glory.

If you haven't seen it, I would recommend it. While it is a beautiful movie for the eye, it is quite long, so be prepared to either enjoy the ride, or quit early if the story doesn't grab you.

But I would like to hear from others who have seen good examples of a strong bokeh presence (odd juxtaposition but I think it makes sense) in other movies.
