Just in case anyone is interested, it appears there are NEW Rd-1's on the Epson site. Unless this is an old link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/consumer/consDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=49164277 they are $2999. I can't see where it says they are refurbs. If you use the code FS9F you'll get an additional 10% off.

That'd be great if they started to sell new ones again - meaning, hopefully I could get a refurbished one for half the price one of these days... ;-)

They have been on Epson page for as long as I can remember. I almost bought a new one 2 months ago but they were out of stock, and in again a week later. I then decided to go for the M8 at $1800 more. But yes, they sell them new at $3k but not the Rd1s, just the Rd1.
