Hi, most of the Contax G lenses are available in silver and black finish. I think it is hte 16 and the 35 which are silver only. All my lenses are silver and I find them pretty hard wearing. Despite having seen some use, they still look pretty neat. Any opinion on the black ones? Do they brass easily? I am still keen on either of the Biogons and they pop up on ebay in regular intervalls in both colours. If I managed to get a neat black Biogon and it would brass heavily in next to time, I guess I would be a bit sad.
As I said, for my use the silver lense (not the body) are pretty hard wearing. My body has some rub marks, where the matt Titanium is more shiny. I understand this is common for Contax G which get used and don't spend their lives as shelf items (how sad).

I too have a Black G2 and all black lenses. The lenses wear very well ,but I did notice a little show though on the edge of my camera. I have since covered the edges of the camera with black Gaffers tape.

if the black finish wears, what is the colour underneath it?

I thought someone might ask that, my cameras are put away in storage as I am having knee replacement surgery, and I can not remember ,and its been several years since I gaffers taped it. I do not think it was brass.
