Hi!
I am spending friday in Istanbul. I spent almost all my color films here in the Caucasus (bit of Portra 400 left), and would like to know if there are places where I can buy Kodak Portra (preferred), Kodak Elite Chrome or the corresponding Fuji offers (NPS; Provia, etc)...
Edit: Found this...http://www.pamukticaret.com/anasayfa.asp
Any other ideas?
Thanks,
Peter

Pamuk ticaret is a good bet and the neigbourhood is full of camera stores and electronic shops. with some help you will find the films you are after.

I recalled there is a building, 6 floors are all camera stores (new or used). It is very famous, locals should be able to tell you the exact location. On the tram line street, there are some digital camera Nikon, the building is near that.

Hi again!
So....at Pamuk they have Portra (older VC/NC versions) in 35 and 120 plus a variety of other films, another store close-by has the full range of Ilford films (which is all I shot in b/w).
Indeed, they were all just around the corner from the Spice Bazar.
Thanks for the tips! Looks like Istanbul is the place to stock up on film should I run out of it during Caucasus travels. Very nice.
Best,
Peter

I'll be in istanbul later this year - so any info on where to buy film (and if anyone knows - where to get E6 processed!) is very helpful for me too!

Attached a map where Pamuk is (Kodak and Fuji films). It is upstairs and a few other shops and possibly labs are around there too.
Around the corner from them, towards the street where the tram is, are several more stores. One has a Leica sign on it and stocks all Ilford films (and developing chemicals) and Kodak Chrome Elites too.

Hello papasnap,
As others mentioned above; Pamuk Ticaret is a very good place to find different type of films. On the other hand, there is another place you can both buy film or have them developed. Kristal Fotograf

This place is (as far as I can remember) two buildings left to Pamuk Ticaret. So you can visit them both.
Also there is another place you may want to visit is Hayyam Pasajı. This place is the center of photography in Istanbul. Very close to the other places I mentioned, so you can ask them and they will show you how you get there. You may find some very interesting deals in there. But in Hayyam Pasajı; if you decide to buy something; never accept the first price they ask; try third
Hope to enjoy your visit.
