I am considering buying new or used equipment from UK. I wanted to know if anyone had experience with this.
It would buying from a UK dealer and shipped to US.
My question is...
- If its new how does warranty and passport work?
- For both used and new, is there a difference in customs charge?
- The dealer would ship it via courier with full price declared, how much customs charge would it be?
- Does camera body and lens differ (used and new) in customs charge?
Thank you so much

It depends on the equipment, film cameras have no import duties. If you ship it by Fedex/DHL/UPS you'll have a small customs broker charge; if you ship post, most likely not.
Not sure about warranties...

Thank you
I am looking to buy M8 or M8.2 so it would be digital camera. And 50mm Noctilux f1.
I read it that UK / EU passport differ when imported as it is treated as grey import. But warranty is international. I couldnt confirm this, just a guess from reading the warranty / passport info in the box.

Someone reputable in the UK should be good for anywhere in the world. However, insist on insurance and international signed for postage. I think also the recent £/$ movement may have made UK purchases less economical.
