It seems that most people who have bought Konica gear from Matsuiyastore have had good experiences, but I was just wondering whether the owner or manager, Noriaki, has ever requested that you contact him at an outside e-mail address like: snettechnologie@[something].com.

I contacted him with a question through Matsuiyastore on eBay, but after one or two very brief exchanges he then asked me to contact him at another address. Is that his personal e-mail address?

Would appreciate a head's up and some reassurance as I have been burned by an overseas seller on eBay before. Thanks in advance.

That is not him. Beware of fraud. If you are not sure, then use the Repond to Seller button. I guess we will be bidding against each other for the Hexanon 60mm 🙂.

I have bought from Noriaki several times and he has NEVER contacted me outside the eBay system or asked me to do so. Beware.

Thanks very much for all your responses.

Over the course of the day I got more e-mails from this guy pretending to be Matsuiyastore or Noriaki. I was suspicious when he first asked me to contact him off eBay, but it just got worse from there. When I asked him whether he was Noriaki, he said, "Yes, it's me!" but never signs his e-mail with this name.

Then I decided to go back into eBay, find Matsuiyastore, and send another message through the "Ask seller a question" function. Sure enough, Noriaki responds to my questions and signs his e-mail with his name.

I then check my messages again and this imposter finally shoots himself in the foot when I ask him for payment methods. Here is his information:

E-mail address: snettechnologie@aol.com

E-mail message:
"This are details so you can do the payment trought MoneyGram :

Lee Wiegers
56 fulham road
London
NW 3DS
United Kingdom

Once you have made the payment please reply back with :
Sender Full Name :
Adress :
City :
Zip :
Country :
Scanned Paper of the payment and the 8 - digital code ( called Reference number ) .

Thank You ,
Lee Wiegers"

Here are the warning signs:
1. He told me to contact him using an e-mail that was off eBay.
2. This guy's e-mails always ended up in my spam filter.
3. The guy's grammar totally sucked and his e-mails were super short and vague. But when "payment" is mentioned, his English suddenly improves somewhat and he even demonstrates some trace of proper etiquette.
4. He is inconsistent. First he responds in the affirmative when asked if he is Noriaki, then he tells me his name is Lee.

Sure, all this sounds like no big deal, but the real kicker is that I initiated contact with Noriaki through eBay, and I got responses from the Matsuiyastore user ID--even the message stating that I should contact him through the outside e-mail address!!! I still can't figure that one out, unless somehow my computer has spyware or Noriaki's account was hacked or his messages somehow intercepted.

One thing I did notice was that I used the "respond" button directly from the eBay message I received in my normal e-mail inbox, as opposed to going into my personal eBay message inbox and replying from there. Maybe my computer or Internet Explorer has some spyware of some sort. Well whatever the case, I'm not that excited about using eBay anymore. I already got burned on several hundred dollars once before. This would have been disastrous.

Well, I immediately notified Noriaki about this but unfortunately I used the "respond" button in my outside e-mail to do so. If I don't hear anything, I'll do it the "proper" way within eBay just to make sure Noriaki knows.

Thought I would put this up as a warning. I think I'll be staying off eBay for a while.

Do you always check the box that says.....

Do you always check the box that says.....

"hide my email from the seller" when using eBay "send a question to the seller". I didn't see that in this post anywhere, but never send a question to the seller through eBay in a way the seller gets your outside email. eBay has that wrong. The default is that sellers always get your outside email when you question the seller through the system . It should be that the seller never gets your outside email unless you check a box to allow it.

In fact, the eBay system should never exchange outside addresses until after the sale, and then only between people who have won that auction and the seller.

Ah, so here's the official story:

"Dear edhohoho,

Thanks again for response.
sorry for problem.
I have stolen my passward this morning and i was very shock!
but the problem have solved now.

aol address is spam ebayer.
you should discuss me on ebay site.

best regards and sorry,
Noriaki.

But it makes me wonder, if this guy can get Noriaki's password, imagine what he could have done with all the auctions and whatnot with that well-respected user ID.

Geez, this eBay thing can be pretty dangerous and scary. I think this is a sign that I should spend more time taking pictures.

Had a transaction with him the day before yesterday. Good thing I already have the tracking number for the package and it has left Japan.

Edhohoho, Did you forward your fraudulent email to spoof@eBay.com. Do that & they will investigate. I had a similiar experience last week-got message sent only to my email address & not through "my messages" in Ebay. The fake email looks very official. It's a good thing I was vigilant & check on eBay account. I also forwarded it to spoof@eBay.com & was told by eBay that it's fraudulent.
So what I've won now is left "tangling" as I did not initiate payment. I asked eBay to cancel transaction but they did not do anything. Now whenever I log into my account, there's a reminder to pay for 1 item😡
Be Careful!

fwiw, i just rec'd my m-hex 35 from noriaki today, shipped to Michigan in 3 days. no issues with the eBay/Paypal transaction. lens as described, i'm pleased, need to shoot. as others noted, my apporach is strict adherence to eBay protocol.

I just received my UC 35/2. He did message me through ebya asking for my phone number for shipping purposes. It sounded like a reasonable request to me.

I have had issues like this before and used eBay's online help feature to resolve them. Click the links to start a chat session with a tech person and stay with them until they clear the thing off your "My eBay" page.

And yes the phishers are making very convincing-looking fake emails with the respond button and everything. If you hit respond and it takes you to a "log in to your account" screen and you do it - you're done. Gave away your user name and password.

Always type eBay and PayPal addresses in the address bar, never click a link in an email.

Thanks, John.🙂
