C-Loop strap mount anyone??

anyone tried this?
is it a good idea to use this on old metal RF camera (a voigtlander vitomatic to be exact) without strap lug?

I have tried a couple tripod mount connectors, and would say I find them cumbersome on a rangefinder. Assumingly they are utilitarian on a mombo kit, but I don't have one to try.
