Calumet Camera in Philly is not that close to me, but the other day I ran out of Dektol and I wanted to do some printing this weekend. I knew that Calumet had film, so I called to see if they had chemicals for sale at the store.
To my surprise, they not only have a basic supply of darkroom chemicals, they are actually on display, along with a good selection of Ilford papers. Their prices are not out of line with Freestyle and B & H. Their film selection is a bit limited (Tri-X and a few Ilford films) but prices are OK (I think it was $4.29/roll for Tri-X).
I have read many sad posts about the demise of traditional photo stores, it is nice to be able to say something positive.
I walked out with Dektol, fixer and Tri-X. I will go a little out of my way in the future to bring them my business.
