Hello --
Can anyone please advise how to go about removing the clamp down screw fitted to the bottom of the I/II/III series of brown leather carrying cases? This is the screw which fits into the camera's tripod socket. It seems to have two pins of some kind in the side of it. I managed to acquire a nice case for my IIIg recently but it has a 3/8 ince screw and alas, my IIIg has a 1/4 inch tripod socket.
Thanks a lot!

Changing the bottom plate of your camera is more practical than changing the screw in the case. It requires major destruction of the case to take it apart, the knob isn't pinned to the bolt, they are one piece. You have to un-stitch the corner, separate the layers, and then you can get at the metal plate the bolt is trapped in.
